Summer meet and greet :: Christy Scott

June 23, 2014

Over the next four weeks GoGriz.com will introduce you first to the three incoming players, then the five returning players who will make up the 2014-15 Montana women's tennis team. Today: Christy Scott of Gympie, Australia.

Scott signed a National Letter of Intent in the spring.

"Christy came on our radar from a solid source in Australia," says UM coach Steve Ascher, who will be in his seventh year coaching the Grizzlies next season.

"We spent time talking with Christy and her parents, and the thing that jumped out immediately was her work ethic and desire to improve. Christy talked about her desire to improve and her willingness to work with a program that would help develop her tennis game.

"We loved how she was the youngest of three sisters and grew up on a farm. Growing up in a household where she was engaged in tennis with her older sisters and knowing the work ethic that comes from raising animals provide a great foundation.

"We are excited to have Christy join our program and look forward to seeing her start her career this fall."
