The University of Montana golf team announced its newest member. Haley Bingham of Rockwall, Texas, signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday and will join the Grizzlies for the 2012-13 season.

Bingham hails from Rockwall high school where she captained her golf team as a junior and a senior. Bingham's prep accomplishments run deep including the Top Newcomer of the Year award as a freshman, first-team All-District her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons, first-team All Region in her freshman and sophomore seasons and team MVP last year in her junior season.

Bingham's successes go beyond high school. She competes regularly in the Texas Junior Golf Tour and last spring won a Camp Olympia Spring Break Series event.

Bingham is looking forward to her senior year being just as promising, and is thrilled to join the Grizzly squad following graduation.

"I am really excited," said Bingham. "I visited in October and fell in love with Missoula, the town was so pretty and everyone I met was so nice."

The Grizzlies will graduate two seniors in 2011-12 in Ashli Helstrom and Lauren Howell. Bingham is the first signee under first-year coach Emily Milberger.
