Montana women's golf team heads to California to compete

he University of Montana women's golf is in Palm Desert, Calif., competing in the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Invitational Oct. 13-14. Nineteen teams will compete including CSU Fullerton, Northern Colorado and College of Charleston. Two rounds will be played on Saturday and one on Sunday at The Classic Club, a par-72 course that is set up at 6,119 yards. Montana is coming off a 17th place finish at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo. The tournament in Palm Desert is the team's second-to-last competition of the fall season. "We are obviously very excited to play in this invitational," said head coach Emily Milberger. "It's a great field and very competitive. We are coming off of our lowest team score of the fall in the final round at Missouri. We have a lot of momentum coming off that round. It's going to be a great event."
