Women's golf in second place at Bobcat Invitational

The University of Montana golf team trails leader Montana State by three shots after day one of the 2012 Bobcat Invitational in Bozeman. After the first 18 holes, head coach Emily Milberger said her team performed well on a challenging course. Senior Olivia Weber had a strong first round and sits in third place with three-over-par score of 74. "Olivia gave a strong performance today and showed great leadership," said Milberger. Junior Natalie Beard also put up a low score of five-over-par (76), which ties her for sixth place. Sophomore Tara Green and junior Lindsay Reeve finished the day with a six-over-par 77. Newcomer freshman Kyla Clancy shot seven-over-par (78). Freshman Haley Bingham completed day one with an 81 (ten-over-par). The Grizzlies closed day one with a team score of 306. "We had good numbers today and we are really looking forward to tomorrow," says Milberger. Tomorrow, round two will start at 8 a.m. The final round also starts at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
