Women's golf takes home eighth place at Wyoming tournament
Oct. 14, 2012 The Montana women's golf team finished in eight place Sunday at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate held at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. Sophomore Tara Green (74-73-76--223) finished in seventh place and led the Grizzlies. Freshman Hayley Bingham(78-79-73--230) had the lowest score (73) of the Montana players in her final round. Bingham finished in 27th. "This was a challenging course and a strong field, but we were able to gain some momentum and have a good weekend," said head coach Emily Milberger. "Tara had a few great rounds of golf, and Hayley had a strong final round. It's nice to see young talent develop at these tournaments." Olivia Weber (78-74-83--235) took 41st place. Lindsay Reeve shot 82 for all three rounds to finish with a 246 and 83rd place. Kyla Clancy(92-79-85--256) finished in 98th place. Collectively, Montana (312-305-314) finished with a team score of 931. The Grizzlies were three strokes behind seventh place finisher Northern Arizona. Fresno State (291-289-305--885) took home the team title. Kathy Boehm (73-68-75--216) from the College of Charleston finished in first place. Montana will compete in its final tournament of the fall season Oct. 22-23 at the Memphis Fall Invitational.
