The Montana women's golf team started off the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Invitational at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif., in seventh place. After two rounds of eighteen on Saturday, Tara Green (74-73--147) sits in fifth place. Olivia Weber (78-74) shot 152 in the two rounds for 20th place. Hayley Bingham (78-79--157) is in 38th place. Lindsay Reeve scored an 82 in both rounds to put her in 77th place. Kyla Clancy (92-79--171) rounds out the team in 98th. "This is a challenging course, but we had a good day," said head coach Emily Milberger. "This is a strategy course and I am really proud of the ladies. We really stuck to our game, plan and it's paying off as we are putting low scores on the board. We are looking forward to sticking to that game plan and having a strong closing round." Montana (312-305--617) is tied with Northern Arizona for seventh and trails sixth-place UC Riverside (316-300--616) by one stroke. Fresno State is leading the tournament. Christine Uhalde of Fresno State is in first place. Play will continue on Sunday with a final round of 18 holes. A full recap on GoGriz.com will follow the completion of play.
