The Grizzly women's golf team jumped up two places to finish in 17th Tuesday at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Missouri.

After the completion of play on Monday, Montana sat in last place, but Olivia Weberled the squad to bump her team past Wichita State and Redlands Community College. The final 18-hole round proved to be the strongest for the team. Almost every player improved or maintained their score from round two on Monday.

Weber (79-79-71) finished out the tournament with a 229 for 38th place. Tara Green (86-75-75) followed with a final score of 236. Lindsay Reeve (80-85-77--242) and Kyla Clancy (78-86-78--242) tied for 75th place. Natalie Beard(89-83-86) rounded out the team with a final score 258.

The team ended the invitational with 323-322-301--946.

"We got some things going the second day," said head coach Emily Milberger. "It was really encouraging to see the girls bounce back after a rough first day of the tournament and get some low scores in the last round."

Southern Methodist held onto its lead from the day before and won the tournament with a final score 876. Melanie White form Southern Methodist took home the individual title with a final score of 208. She shot 69 in the last round.

Montana will compete in the two-day Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Invitational in Palm Desert, Calif., on Oct. 13.
