Junior Tara Green shot a 2-over 74 Monday and is in a tie for seventh after the opening round of the Rose City Collegiate at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Ore. Montana, which shot a 311, is tied for seventh out of 15 teams.

Because of heavy winds and rain in the Portland area Monday and in the preceding days, the tournament was shortened from the standard 36-18 format to 18-18, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Monday's start was delayed by three hours because of the weather.

In addition to the 74 Montana received from Green, redshirt freshman Alexa Schendelman shot a 77, freshman Amanda Kahn a 79, freshman Barbora Bakova an 81 and senior Lindsay Reeve an 83.

Schendelman was the tournament's day-one leader on the course's shortest holes. She finished 2-under on Langdon Farm's four par 3s.

The tournament has six Big Sky Conference teams competing, and Montana is tied with Portland State atop the leaderboard within the leaderboard.

Sacramento State shot a 313, Eastern Washington a 314, Weber State a 326 and Northern Colorado a 330.

Oregon State, which finished second at the tournament in both 2010 and last fall, shot a 293 Monday and holds a six-shot lead over Gonzaga and UC Irvine, the only other teams, at 299, to break 300.

Cal State Fullerton, the tournament's defending champion, shot a 315 and is in 11th place.

Oregon State's Anica Yoo shot a 3-under 69, one of three players to shoot under par. San Francisco's Emelie Lundstrom and UC Irvine's Luciane Lee both shot a 1-under 71.
