Men's tennis heads to ITA Mountain Regionals

Oct. 16, 2012

The Montana Grizzlies' men's tennis team wraps up its fall season at the ITA Mountain Regionals in Vegas Oct. 17-20.

The regional tournament is held at the Darling Tennis Center in Vegas, and features teams from the Big Sky Conference, Western Atlantic Conference and others within the western region.

Montana's three first team All-Big Sky Conference players Mikolaj Caruk, Michael Facey and Ethan Vaughn are slated to compete in the regional competition. Freshman Semion Branzburg will make his first showing at the ITA tournament. Andrew Warren will hope to continue the momentum he has had in the fall season at the big tournament.

"This is the toughest tournament of the fall," said head coach Kris Nord. "I want the team to compete better than they have the last two tournament."

In the Boise State Fall Classic at the beginning at October, Nord said he thought some of the other Big Sky teams had improved more than the Grizzlies. The ITA Regionals will be a chance for the team to perform well against seeded players.
