The University of Montana men's tennis team is off to compete in the Boise State Fall Classic Oct. 5-7.

The tournament consists of three different flights for singles and doubles: orange, blue and open. Montana joins ten other teams for the classic, including Gonzaga, Portland State and Eastern Washington.

Michael Facey and Eric Braun are seeded third in the blue doubles flight. Montana has had almost two weeks off since their last tournament in Cheney, Wash.

At that tournament, Montana showed improvement and had several strong performances. Braun teamed up with an Idaho State player to win the doubles bracket. Andrew Warrens took second in the singles consolation bracket, and Facey made it all the way to the semifinals in the consolation flight before being defeated.

Even though the Eastern Washington Fall Invite featured a very competitive playing field, head coach Kris Nord expects Boise to present the team with even tougher competition.

"I am hoping we will be a bit more polished in Boise," said Nord. "I was encouraged by what I saw in Cheney. All eight of our guys should see a lot of matches in this tournament."

A full recap of tournament results will be available on following the completion of competition.
