2014 ALL-AMERICAN CANDIDATE

MONTANA: John will start at left tackle for the second season in a row. 2013: He started all 13 games at left tackle for the 10-3 Grizzlies. He was an honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference selection.

2012: He saw considerable action and started in the last two games on the season at left tackle.

2011: He was a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: He was named first team all-state at offensive tackle and second team at defensive end his senior year at Senior High School. He was named all-conference on offense and defense as a senior. He was a three-year starter both ways in high school. He was chosen for the Great Falls Tribunes's "Super State Team." His prep football coach was former Griz player Mark Sulser (1987-88). He served as team captain his senior season. He was an academic all-state selection.

PERSONAL: His major is sociology. Birth date: April 1, 1993. His parents are Bob and Linda Schmaing of Billings.
