2012 Honors Candidate

Montana: Dan has been slowed by injuries the past couple of seasons, but he has been a major contributor both at halfback and in special teams. He was vying for the starting job this past spring, along with fellow senior Peter Nguyen.

2011: He was second on the team with seven rushing touchdowns, despite missing three games due to an injury. He was fourth on the team with 430 yards rushing, and had the second most carries with 120. He was ninth on the team with 12 receptions (for 111 yards).

2010: He played in the first eight games until being sidelined with an injury against Northern Arizona.

2009: He played in 13 games and was a major contributor on special teams, where he garnered 13 tackles. He also rushed for a touchdown.

2008: He was at UM, but unable to play because of NCAA rules.

High School: He lettered in four sports at Mountain View High School: football (three), wrestling (three), baseball (three), and track and field (one)...a two-time all-state and three time all-conference choice in football...also named All-Region...the 14th-ranked fullback in the nation by Scout.com...as a senior he rushed for more than 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns, averaging 8.0 yards a carry, and had 2,525 all-purpose yards (229.0 a game)...voted team MVP three times...team captain in football, baseball, and track and field...was a U.S.A Power-lifting champion as a freshman....his high school football coach was Paul Schmidt.

Career Highs: He had 15 rushes for 116 yards at Montana State in 2011, and also had a career-long 37-yard run for a touchdown in that game. He had a career-high 21 carries at Idaho State last season. He rushed for two touchdowns at Sacramento State a year ago, and also had career-highs of 4 catches for 66 yards in that game.

Personal: His parents are David and Amanda Moore of Tucson. His major is sociology. Birth date: February 1, 1990.

Quoting Coach Delaney: "Dan Moore is a versatile guy. He's going to play running back, and go up in there and get that really tough two or three yards when you have to have it, for a first down or on the goal line. He's also going to play some H-back, which involves more receiving and blocking than we've done in the past.

"I think Danny's future down the road will be number one to stay healthy. He's battled some injuries, but if he can stay healthy and do what we expect him to do on special teams, he has a chance to play at the next level, as a fullback and special teams guy. Danny has the potential of being on the field a whole lot this year, whether in's on special teams, at tailback, or at H-back. He ought to be a terror on special teams and at tailback and H-back."
