High School: He was a three-time all-state and all-conference selection in football at local Sentinel High School...chosen football team's defensive MVP as a junior and senior...senior season he was a team captain and had 112 tackles and five forced fumbles...head football coach was Pete Joseph...earned four letters in track and field, and was a three-time all-state and all-conference pick in that sport...two-time team captain in track...the "AA" stats discus champion in 2008 and 2009.
