2013 BUCK BUCHANAN AWARD & ALL-AMERICA CANDIDATE
MONTANA: Jordan is a rare four-year starter in 2013. He begins his senior season ranked 24th in school history with 235 career tackles and 11th in tackles for loss with 24, while his seven career fumble recoveries are the third most (tie) ever at UM.
2012: He had an exceptional season with 95 tackles (second on the team), and had a team-high 13.5 tackles for loss. He was named to three All-America teams: Sports Network (second team); Associated Press (third team), and Phil Steele Magazine (first team). He was the recipient of UM's Tony Barbour Award ("best exemplifies the values and work ethic of Grizzly football." He had 10 or more tackles in four games. In the spring he was chosen by former Griz defensive end Ryan Fetherston to wear UM's legacy number 37 (a tradition that started in 1987).
2011: He started in the first three games, but was injured in the Eastern Washington contest.
2010: He started all 11 games and was second on the team with 99 total tackles. He had a team-high (tied with Fetherston) 9.0 tackles for loss, and led the squad with a team-best three fumble recoveries. He had 10 or more tackles in six games. He was an honorable mention All-Big Sky selection.
2009: He was ranked among Montana's top tacklers as a true freshman, despite not starting and playing primarily on special teams. He was UM's 20th leading tackler with 24 stops. His two fumble recoveries were the second most on the team.
HIGH SCHOOL: He was an "AA" all-state and all-conference pick at Big Sky High School as a senior when he had 12 sacks despite battling an injury. He registered 72 tackles, including 13 for losses for the 6-5 Eagles in 2008. He was a team captain in football his senior year. He was also all-league selection in football as a junior. He also lettered in track. His high school coach was former Griz player (1959-61) and UM coach (1977-79), the late Gary Ekegren.
CAREER HIGHS: He had 13 tackles against Montana State in 2012, and against North Dakota in 2010. He had 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks against Southern Utah in 2012. He had an 80-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown last season against Idaho State. He had a 22-yard interception return for a touchdown in the 2010 opener against Western State.
PERSONAL: He is a third generation football player at Montana. His father, Bryan, was a starting linebacker for the Grizzlies in 1989 and 1990, while his grandfather, Gene (Junior), played and lettered at Montana in 1963-64. His mom's name is Lisa. He is a business management major. His birth date is April 3, 1991. Misc.: Jordan's first two-plus seasons while playing at UM he wore the same number, 44, that his dad Bryan wore when he played for the Grizzlies.
