MONTANA: Tyrone will soon move on to UM's career sacks top 25 list, as he currently has nine. He will be starting at defensive end for the second straight season in 2014. He is UM's seventh leading returning tackler.

2013: He started all 13 games and was the Grizzlies' 13th leading tackler with 37 stops. He was third (tie) on the team with four sacks, and tied for fourth in tackles for loss with six. He was an honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference pick. He was named to the league's all-academic team for the second season in a row.

2012: He played in all 11 games and started in one (Liberty) as a true freshman. He was third on the team with 5.0 sacks, and 15th in total tackles with 24.

HIGH SCHOOL: He was the 2011 co-defensive player of the year in the Midwestern League as a senior. He was also named first team all-state and earned all-league honors as a senior. He was an all-conference selection three times in football both ways. He served as a team captain in basketball as a junior and senior. He was a four-year letterman in hoops and in track, and garnered three letters in football. He was named the co-Conference "Defensive Player of the Year" as a senior. His prep football coach was Jacob Shauffler. He was a versatile track athlete, winning the state champion in the shot put, and placing fourth in the high hurdles.

CAREER HIGHS: He had nine tackles and four sacks against Idaho State in 2013. He had a season-high seven tackles against Cal Poly last year.

PERSONAL: His major is business administration. Birth date: Sept. 10, 1993. His parents are Tyrone and Angie Holmes of Eagle Point.
