THE GAME: The Montana Grizzlies (0-1) conclude their two-game road trip, playing the South Dakota State Jackrabbits (0-2) Thursday, Nov. 14, with tip-off at 6:00 p.m. (Mtn.) in Frost Arena (6,107).

RADIO: Tom Schultz will be calling the play-by-play on UM's flagship station, KGVO 1290 AM/ & 101.5 FM. (MBB Radio Network listed on add 4 of the weekly release).

Griz lose 68-67 in thrilling, double overtime heart-breaker
Senior forward Tony Fiegen made a pair of free throws with 8.9 seconds left in double overtime, as the visiting South Dakota State University Jackrabbits defeated The University of Montana Grizzlies 68-67 in front of a raucous crowd of 3,408 in UM's Dahlberg Arena Saturday evening.

TV: There is no television coverage scheduled for the game.

SEASON OPENER (at Minnesota 84, Montana 58): Minnesota's three starting guards combined for 50 points to lead the Gophers to the win. Andrew Hollis had a game-high 24 points, while fellow guards DeAndre Mathieu and Austin Hollis added 15 points and 11 points. Kareem Jamar was the Grizzlies' only player in double figures with 18 points, and he also led UM with 6 rebounds. Minnesota out-rebounded Montana 45 to 29.

LAST SEASON: The Griz were 25-7 and ranked 14th in's final Mid-Major poll. Montana made its second trip in a row and third in the last four years to the NCAA Tournament . The Griz won the Big Sky regular-season title with a 19-1 record.

RETURNING STARTERS: The Griz return three starters this season: 6-2 junior guard Jordan Gregory (21 starts); 6-9 senior center Eric Hutchison (27 starts); and Jamar (32 starts), a 6-5 senior guard-forward. UM returns eight lettermen.

POST-SEASON HONORS: Last year Jamar was named the Big Sky MVP and an Associated Press honorable mention All-American. Gregory was honorable mention all-league. Coach Tinkle was named the Big Sky's "Coach of the Year" in 2012-13 -- the second year in a row he has been so-honored by his peers.
