Three different Grizzly BB camps offered at UM this summer

May 31, 2012

There are three different options available this summer in the 2012 Grizzly Basketball Camps offered at The University of Montana, and the first of those begins in just one week.

The Team Camp is the initial session offered and starts next week, running from Friday to Sunday, June 8-10. The Team Camp is available for freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams. It provides quality competition and an opportunity for team bonding. A certified officials clinic will coincide with the Team Camp and officials are provided for all games.

The cost of the Team Camp range from $500 (commuter), $600 (one night stay), and $700 (Friday and Saturday night stay). Each price includes a maximum of 10 players and two coaches, although additional players and coaches may be added for $35 per person. Housing and two special meals are provided for all teams and coaches. Housing and two special meals (Friday night discounted pizza and Saturday night bar-b-q) are provided for all teams and coaches. Teams and coaches will be responsible for all other meals.

An Overnight Camp is offered Monday to Thursday, June 25-28, and includes players entering grades five through 12. It includes individual fundamental instruction from Grizzly coaches and players, skill development, and provides excellent competition for all age levels.

The Overnight Camp includes 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 leagues, along with 1-on-1 competition, a fast break league, as well as hot shot and free throw competition. The costs of the Overnight Camp are $220 (commuter camper without meals), $255 (commuter camper with meals), and $300 (resident camper).

The final camp offered is the Day Camp, Monday-Thursday, July 9-12. This camp is offered to the younger hoopsters, from kindergarten through the seventh grade, and goes from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Day Camp features skill development as well as individual fundamental instruction from Grizzly coaches and players. The Day Camp costs $165 per person (which includes two snack breaks, with snacks provided free).

On-line registration and more information about each camp is available at www.grizzliesbasketballcamps.com, or go to UM's official web site, gogriz.com. A doctor's physical is required for both the team and overnight camps.
