03/12/2012 Griz mentor Wayne Tinkle named BSC Coach of the YearHis teams have won 20 or more games three seasons in a row The 2011-12 season will be Matt Erickson's first year as Director of Basketball Operations at The University of Montana. Prior to this year he coached high school basketball in Eugene, Oregon. Erickson started at point guard for the Sheldon High School Basketball team in Eugene, Oregon where his team made the second round in the state playoffs his junior and senior seasons. He lettered nine times in basketball, football, soccer, track, and baseball. He played basketball at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. In 2009, Erickson earned his B.A. in History at the University of Oregon. His parents are Dick and Linda Erickson, who both are Montana natives and educators in Oregon. He has two brothers, Ross and Greg. Erickson plans on graduating from the Health and Human Performance Masters Program at The University of Montana. |
