INTERACTIVE GSA SPRING TOUR MAP
For 30-plus years, the Montana Grizzly Scholarship Association (GSA), athletic department staff and coaches have fueled up their cars and hit the open Montana highway each year for the GSA Spring Tour.
The 2016 Grizzly convoy is set to make 13 stops around the state, logging over 3,000 miles, visiting local GSA chapters and spreading the good word of Grizzly athletics with nearly 48 hours behind the wheel.
For three weeks in mid-May through early-June, GSA chapters from Bigfork to Billings and beyond roll out the welcome mat with barbeques, golf outings and socials. UM dignitaries making the rounds include athletic director Kent Haslam, head football coach Bob Stitt and Lady Griz head coach Robin Selvig, just to name a few.
"It's an awesome time of the year," says senior associate AD, and GSA executive director Greg Sundberg.
"The GSA Spring Tour is a great time to get around the state and thank our loyal supporters. Not only does the spring tour generate monies for student-athlete scholarships, it also is a great time to update our fans on all that is going on in Grizzly Athletics."
The annual loop of the state kicks off this Friday, May 13, as the caravan heads north to Bigfork for the Grizzly Golf Classic at Eagle Bend Golf Course, before heading east of the divide to Lewistown, Great Falls, Cut Bank and Fort Benton.
On May 20, the road trip continues in Ronan at the Tana Bockman Memorial Golf for the Griz tournament, followed by another trip back east to Havre, Sidney and Billings. The tour concludes with GSA chapter events in Hamilton, Helena, Butte and Missoula.
