In her 10th year as the marketing and promotions director for Grizzly Athletics, Christie Anderson is involved in all phases of sports marketing and is responsible for season and single-game promotions and ticket campaigns. Anderson returned to her alma mater in September of 1997 after spending nearly three years as the assistant advertising director for the Davis Enterprise newspaper in Davis, CA. Anderson served as UM's marketing and promotions director from September 1997 through January 2001. She left Grizzly Athletics in January 2001 for a sales representative position with Aventis pharmaceuticals. In October of 2002, she became an outside sales representative for the local newspaper, The Missoulian where she had been until her return to Grizzly Athletics in September of 2004. In addition to her role with UM Marketing and Promotions, Anderson is in her sixth season as program director for Montana's cheer squad and dance team. Prior to becoming program director, Anderson served as coach of the UM Cheer Squad from 1999-2004, taking two squads to National Competition in Florida and Las Vegas. She also helped lead the UM Cheer Squad to the USA National Competition in 2006. She worked for UCA as an instructor and judge from 1991-1997. Anderson has judged the UCA College Cheerleading and Dance Team Championships and the UCA High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida. Anderson cheered for The University of Montana from 1990-1994. She was team captain her junior and senior seasons. Anderson, who was a competitive gymnast for 8 years in her youth, helped lead a Helena Capital High School gymnastics squad to a state championship in her junior year. She also spent two seasons as a member of the cheer squad in high school. Anderson received her B.S. from UM in business administration with an emphasis in marketing in 1994. She is a native of Helena and a 1988 graduate of Capital High School. Christie and her husband Chris have two daughters, Lillie and Landrie. |
